Podcast ‘Red Pen’ Episodes
The podcast is available via iTunes, Google’s Feedburner, Podbean, Podcasters and Podcast Alley.
To fill the gap in the podcast schedule left by the audio interviews, I run ‘red pen’ episodes where I read out a short story or self-contained novel extract then comment on it. I’m firm but fair but I know that the episodes are listened to around the world (NB copyright always remains with the author – and I only read the story, I don’t paste it into the blog) so if you’re precious about your writing then this may not be your cup of tea.
If you have something a novel extract with synopsis or short story (preferred), ideally 1,500 words max, that you would like critique on, then feel free to email me. If you are sending a novel extract, please indicate where in the novel the extract is pulled from, thank you.
I’m no poet so don’t feel qualified to give critique back on this however I have a plan (to hopefully get a local poet involved) so poets hang fire for now and I’ll change this with news if it comes to fruition.

As of December 2012, I have stopped doing the podcast red pen sessions but am putting them on the blog instead as Sunday evening Red Pen Critique postings. I hope you find this format even more useful.
There’s also plenty of information dotted around this blog, predominantly in the Submission info., Competitions Calendar and Events sections.
