Flash Fiction

I love writing flash fiction and everything I’ve written for Tuesday Tales* has been less than 550 words.

I’ve written a LOT of flash fiction and I do plan to eBook some of them and I’ll put the link in here when I do.

*Here a few of the reviews received for some of my flash fiction:

200-word Cocoon:

  • “Powerful tale this week. Great job!”
  • “Can empathise with your protag, this happened to me, not a plane but train journey.”
  • “Very stark tale, but done well.”

316-word Siesta:

  • “I always look forward to reading your TT – and you did not disappoint, Morgen! :)
  • “Eddie reminds me of my “mammoth” of a man. Very well written.”
  • “Sweet, sensual and then the twist. Love you kept me hanging. Great TT Morgen.”

258-word Date Night:

  • “You have such interesting stories and the most amazing endings.”
  • “Didn’t see that one coming. :)
  • “I always enjoy reading your TT’s and your different POV. Nice twist at the end, too.”

301-word Consolation Prize:

  • “LOVED IT, Morgen …. every single word, every single line. Great post!!!!!!”
  • “I don’t know what it is but I always look forward to your work. Thank you Morgen.”
  • “Beautifully done here. The title is perfect as well. I love your writing.”
134-word The Milkman’s:
  • “Great little teaser …. please tell me there’ll be more. :)
  • “Definitely a dark twist at the end of this little short. Another great addition, Morgen.”
  • “I did NOT see that ending coming at all.”

259-word Badge of Honour:

  • “I love surprise endings. This is cool!”
  • “Surprise, surprise. LOL I think the lady’s imagination ran away with her. Great little piece of flash.”
  • “You had me here! Well done. Loved the build up and the surprise.”

162-word Small Steps:

  • “Tragic… a moment ‘out of character’… a lifetime to regret. Very well written. I’ve written a fair bit of flash, but none with only a single word as the prompt. Sounds fun!”
  • “wow….intense but sad and filled with the reality of regret.”
  • “Morgen, I can certainly see why you write short pieces and in second person. You have turned it into a fine art. Bravo.”

393-word Trust Me:

  • “What a delightful tale you’ve woven in such a short amount of works.”
  • “It sure is an interesting POV, Morgen. You know how to leave your reader hanging, don’t you. :-)
  • “Another great 2 POV story. Love the ending.”

504-word Two Hearts:

  • “Love the slow unfolding of the story. I can feel what it’s like to be him. Beautifully written, Morgen.”
  • “I wasn’t sure whether I’d like second person point of view, Morgen, but I must say that your story made the case.”
  • “Brought a tear to my eye, since I’ve had several family members go through heart by-pass. It’s nice to see it from the person’s pov instead of the family’s.”

467-word Two Rows:

  • “Love it! And perfectly morose – just how I like it. Top story Morgen.”
  • “Beautiful, dark and wonderfully crafted. Thank you.”
  • “This is the first time that I recall reading something in the 2nd POV. It really drew me into the story.”

476-word Two Backwards, One Forwards:

  • “Loved it Morgen. Out of the ordinary and really held me.”
  • “I enjoyed this story and the subtle emotional currents flowing beneath the words. I look forward to reading more of your stories.”
  • “I loved this story. Great description, spare enough not to overwhelm but rich enough to draw me into the emotion and action. I hope you’re going to continue this story because now that you’ve got me interested in this guy and his daughter, I want to know more. You know our TT motto is “where good books are born.” Keep this going!!”

I'd love you to leave a comment, thank you!
