Novelist, humorist, short story author, columnist and writing guru and interviewee Jane Wenham-Jones today launched a new website and YouTube video (of part 1, part 2 arrives September 15th) based on an exciting new project, ‘The Wannabe A Writer TV Show’.
As Jane says on her blog…
“Am all very thrilled – and not a little nervously twitchy 🙂 – to announce the launch of the first half of the pilot episode of Wannabe a Writer? The TV Show, a joint project between me and my mate Stephen Arkell of Retina Productions, in which we bring an exciting new concept in Writer-centred TV to your screens…
WATCH it HERE, Read all about it HERE and then do comment – I would love to know what you think…”
You can either leave a comment below and I’ll pass it on, or go to Jane’s blog post directly or hew new dedicated Wannabe A Writer TV Show website (or better still, all three!). And now for the video itself…
This piece sums it up completely for me. So many people expect to be able to just write a novel, and for it to be brilliant. But I agree with the agent, and everything she said. Things need to be precise, coherent, planned out and well executed to even be viewed. It is hard work. very hard work, but somehow, hearing all of those numbers in relation to manuscripts doesn’t scare me because I know that a few years ago I was one of those that was disregarded immediately, but now I’m aware of what the writing process involves. Hard? Yes. Definitely. But still I’ll try.
Good vid. I enjoyed it.

Glad to hear of your perseverance, Rob. I’ve been writing for eight years (well over my million words) and I’m still learning (although I’ll be teaching locally from next January so that’ll be a test of how much has sunk in!). Great to see you here. Thank you for commenting.

Not a problem. It’s good to see something with a bit of meat that inspires me to comment, to be honest. Good luck with the teaching; it’ll be fun, I’m sure.

Thank you, Rob. I can’t wait. I already run a couple of writing groups, one of which is mainly writing exercises (I also set prompts on my https://morgenbailey.wordpress.com/online-writing-groups) and I give feedback in the other (critique) group but there’s nothing like standing up and sharing information – especially when getting paid for doing something I love. 🙂
