Word Count Wednesday: 13 April 2022

Good morning. Yes, it’s that time of the week again. How have you been getting on?

Another zero but the house moves are getting there. My mum’s is on the market and I’ve been selling a fair few bits of furniture from mine so there’s less to put in storage. Even though I’m only moving one county (<60km/40m) I’m not going to be selling/buying on the same day. I empathise with anyone who has to do that.

They say the top three stresses are death, moving house and divorce (not sure in which order) and I’ve had the first then two of the second to deal with in the past month so my head’s not on writing at the moment.

Parts of my brain are reminding me what pot of gold (editing existing works most likely) lies ahead when my house is ready for the world to trudge through it (or my little part of it). It’s been my cocoon for the past 23 years so I want it to gleam (although that’ll be down to my wonderful cleaner!). The day I close the door for the final time (no doubt sobbing) will be the start of my writing:work:muse (not in that order!) life.

Do leave a comment below to share your progress, successes and otherwise, and of course anything else that’s happened to you, writing related, over the past seven days.

  1. Rosemary Reader and Writer says:

Good luck, Morgen. Moving is traumatic, which is why I haven’t done it for over 30 years. Also disruptive. You can’t write if your computer isn’t set up… blow, the table’s not there either… and your notebook has disappeared… Hope you get sorted out soon.
