Word Count Wednesday: 3 Aug 2022

Good morning. Yes, it’s that time of the week again. How have you been getting on?

Mmm, well. Another week of leaving it to the last minute. More house stuff (switching estate agents/last few days of auction, which finishes this lunchtime!) and a (beloved’s) family gathering as well as work (crime novel editing) deadlines meant my writing week started at 9.33pm… last night!

Quality over quantity? Not sure as it took a little while to re-read (thanks, Mrs Kindle) what I’d written thus far but I did manage to put down 1,713 words in just under two hours. If only I could do that every two hours!

Do leave a comment below to share your progress, successes and otherwise, and of course anything else that’s happened to you, writing related, over the past seven days.

Oh no, it’s Wednesday again and I realise I haven’t written this week’s blog! I need some of your magical 1700-words-in-an-hour power to rub off on me!
I guess I was surfing the wave of success from last week.
Although this week, an American journalist stopped by our truck when it was parked up in Sarajevo. He offered me $200 to write 800 words about our alternative lifestyle for an online magazine. It puts writing books into context – 50,000+ words for a couple of pounds profit for each sale…!
    It won’t stop me, though!

That’s fabulous! Hopefully it’ll lead to even more opportunities. I wanted to keep writing but hadn’t slept well the night before so was seriously flagging. A better night’s sleep but work deadlines looming but hopefully back to it at the weekend. Having a Tuesday pm reminder kicks my butt!
