Word Count Wednesday: 21 Sept 2022

Good morning. Yes, it’s that time of the week again. How have you been getting on?

Wednesday and Thursday were work (editing) days in anticipation for T working nights for a week as I wasn’t sure I’d get much done when he was home.

My computer files were rather a mess so I started with that and knowing I have at least a dozen works in progress at various points in their lives, I created a summary for each so I can better prioritise the ones that have more content and potential. With sparce time at the weekend I concentrated on this.

I’d forgotten to judge some short stories I’d promised back at the weekend (oops!) so that took my Sunday and Monday nights (with T at work) then I returned to the organising on Tuesday. A zero word count therefore but definitely steps in the right direction.

Do leave a comment below to share your progress, successes and otherwise, and of course anything else that’s happened to you, writing related, over the past seven days.

Hi Morgen and all. You sound like life has improved dramatically for you, these days. Hope the healing is continuing well.
I have hit a brick wall. Am meant to be participating in the Globe Soup 7 day challenge and really struggling as my given genre is Utopia. Not my cup of tea. Can’t really get my mind to focus on it, let’s hope some bright spark happens before long. two days have gone already.
Otherwise have been focusing on research and writing family history stories.
Hope everyone else is doing better than me. 🙂

Hi Isabel. Oof, that’s a toughie. My first thought was of a paradise but you could scale it right down. For someone who’s had a hectic morning, a key worker perhaps, their idea of Utopia could be a ten-minute break in a staff room. Good luck!

Organisation is progress… It sometimes feels like a waste of time, but it’s beneficial in the long run.
I am now a week ahead with my blog. Just published about 1,500 words and finished a 2,600 worder this week. If I can get myself ahead, I can finish editing this book which is becoming urgent if I want to publish by Christmas!
I think I need to get organised!

Hi WWW. Congrats on your word count. Ah yes, beloved editing of our own works. Not something I relish although I love pulling apart other authors’… just as well as it’s my day job. 🙂 Having a deadline is a great incentive, especially if it’s a Christmas-related book. All the best with it.
