Good morning. Yes, it’s that time of the week again. How have you been getting on?
Due to work commitments and T’s (four-day!) birthday celebrations, my writing week consisted of a morning and evening: yesterday! I’m pleased with what I got done though as I continued the monologues (1,154 words) and planned a new novel for nanowrimo.org (639 words).
It’s not even one I’d thought of before yesterday but I definitely think has enough legs to see the 50,000 words through. We’re off to Iceland in a couple of weeks and I’ll have the weekend to myself so I have high hopes of getting a chunk done then. In past years I’ve done around 8,000 words the first weekend then nothing until the final week when I crammed to get the remaining 40,000+ done, and in most years have managed it. Back in 2009 I wrote The Serial Dater, a first draft of 117,540 words, in 28 days! So I shall keep you updated. Speaking of which…
For those of you who’ve been following the saga of my broken ankle, I’m two weeks and a day out of my cast. I have a boot which I use for walking, otherwise I can get around, albeit slowly, in normal footwear and most importantly I can drive! Very relieved. It’ll be a while before I’m jogging (not that I ever did) but happy to be able to go up and down the stairs (carefully) and be crutch-free so I can carry things again and therefore less reliant on others.
Do leave a comment below to share your progress, successes and otherwise, and of course anything else that’s happened to you, writing related, over the past seven days.
