Other writers’ books

library** See Book Reviews for my reviews of guest books
and guest reviewers’ reviews. **

Having seen one of my interviewees Rosanne Dingli say on a LinkedIn thread: “someone should write a blog soon about all the wonderful indie books available by very capable writers”, I challenged them to give me a <15-word synopsis for their book(s)… they are accepting the challenge and their books are appearing in the relevant genre sections (see links below). What I’m after is:

  • your name (listed within each section alphabetically by first name)
  • your website / blog address
  • book title
  • book links (where we can buy it, the more the merrier e.g., etc and specific links not just the website’s home page)
  • genre
  • and summary in no more than 15 words (a test of your editing skills :)).
  • You can email me these details for up to 5 of your books (please don’t paste them into this page’s comments section).

My books and free short stories are detailed on the Books – mine page. So, below are the books I have listed for other writers by type…

  • Click here for Fiction – children’s / Y.A.
  • Click here for Fiction – novels & novellas
  • Click here for Fiction – poetry
  • Click here for Fiction – script
  • Click here for Fiction – short stories (includes flash fiction)
  • Click here for Non-fiction

Please note: the chances are that I’ve not read the books listed on this page (much as I would like to have done) so these are therefore not personal recommendations but are, in the main, by authors who I have chatted to, interviewed or got to know… even just a little bit. 🙂

    Hello, I think this is a wonderful idea and as they say ‘every little helps’. How do I get my book titles etc. (2) to you?

    Hi Phyllis. Firstly thank you. Secondly I was going to point you to my email address at the bottom of the page’s main content but it just said ‘send me’ which wasn’t very helpful, was it. I’ve now added my email address ( – so that paragraph now tells you everything you need. 🙂

    A great idea, Morgen. Somehow readers need to know who the new exciting Indie authors are. This is a great start.

    Thank you Sheron. I’m delighted to be able to add your two books – you can have up to five so let me know when you have more. 🙂

    A big hat tip to the generous Morgen Bailey for reaching out to other authors. Also, I just read her short story, ‘The Dark Side,’ and recommend it — and it’s free!

    Ah thank you Ann. 🙂 (yes, and there are three other freebies :)) (The Dark Side’s had no reviews yet actually if anyone reading this would care to :))

      What an inspiring site, Morgen. I’ve just finished reading the Dark Side. I could feel the woman’s anxiety and pain. The build up to the husband coming home carried me along. An extreme ending speaks of a marriage filled with violence and pain, well written.

        Thank you so much, Laurie. Feedback is always so valuable and rewarding.

        Yours definitely lifted the spirits after a 1* “this has put me off reading anything by Morgen Bailey ever again” for ‘Feeding the Father’ on Goodreads.

        Actually it didn’t bother me that much because at least she read it and felt strongly enough to comment. 🙂

        Thanks again for your kind words. To have someone relate to a character is always magical.

    Morgan, Thanks so much for your generosity. As a small press gal I struggle to get my work out there and it is people like you that help. There are many writers and you help us all. I will mention your work to my gang here in States. I will send over 2 of my books with requested details tomorrow.

      You’re so welcome. Thank you for sending in a poem. I’ve not read it yet but have the day off work tomorrow so hope to catch up a little then. 🙂

      Hi Dennis

      The guidelines are at the top and bottom of the main text but I have your email now so I’ll email you the information. 🙂

    Just read it, thanks! One quick question for you: Is most of your audience UK-based? I’d like to know this because I write all my books for a mainly US-based audience.

  15. morgenbailey

    March 23, 2012 at 10:47 pm

    Usually US:UK 2:1. Almost exactly so far today (currently just before 11pm)….

    United States = 137
    United Kingdom = 67
    Australia = 17
    Canada = 14
    India = 12
    Mexico = 5
    Morocco = 2
    South Africa = 2
    Germany = 2
    Russian Federation = 2
    Netherlands = 1

    I do find though that readers do enjoy learning about other cultures and are quite happy to look things up – that’s what the internet’s for. 🙂

    Thanks again for contacting me.

      You’re welcome / thank you. I have a few shorts on Smashwords but will be working on the novels shortly (for Amazon) so maybe forwarding on the details to people you know would be lovely. 🙂
