Word Count Wednesday

Yes, it’s that time of the week again. How have you been getting on?

I’ve written approximately 12,300 words this past week (last Wednesday to last night), all in addition to the 3,000(ish) from last week and all for my third Writer’s Block Workbook… which is now finished and with my assistant/editor/cover designer, Caroline. This will be my lucky book number 13 and I’m already on number 14!

I’ve not been doing any fiction writing as such, but have been compiling a third writer’s block workbook and have approximately 3,000 words added to that this past week (last Wednesday to last night).

Yes, it’s that time of the week again. How have you been getting on?

I’ve been concentrating on current projects again and have written 20,081 words this past week (last Wednesday to last night)! This was all for my latest novel ‘The Serial Dieter’, which is already available for pre-order but comes out this Sunday. My beta readers wanted more so I added more. 🙂 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rachel-Cavanagh/e/B088GQN9NN

I’ve still mostly been in editing mode but have 4,769 words added and now have four Rachel Cavanagh books! The Serial Dieter is on pre-order (available 7th June, what would have been my father’s 91st birthday) and they’re all available on Kindle Unlimited.

I’m also knee-deep in Amazon Ads (boy, what a learning curve) so you may see my adverts pop up from time to time. Please use the link above though, or this one to my Morgen Bailey page, as they’re pay per click. Thank you!

I’m hoping to get more writing done next week some maybe under a new pen name so watch this space. 🙂

Unfortunately another zero for me as I’ve been crazy busy with Amazon Ads but it’s wonderful already seeing sales and Kindle Unlimited page reads coming in for my Rachel Cavanagh ‘Henry Houdini’ books.

Caroline and I have been going through the first  of ‘The Serial…’ series: ‘The Serial Dater’ (who some of you will know as ‘The Serial Dater’s Shopping List’) and ‘The Serial Dieter’ where Izzy’s sidekick Donna takes the helm, before they’re (re)published as Rachel Cavanagh. I hope you bring you more news (maybe even the live books!) next week. The covers are amazing… so watch this space (or my blog at least). 🙂

Also, I’ve come up with the idea for a series of new long shorts (potential Kindle Shorts) under a third pen name. Exciting times.

I have another zero this past week (last Wednesday to last night) but have a new ebook out: Henry Goes to the Beach! Plus a relaunch (both with fab new covers) of my dog-detective novel Oh, Henry. They were great fun to write so I hope you enjoy them. More details in yesterday’s post.

I have told Anita Waller (whose fabulous Kat and Mouse series, amongst others, I edit) that I aim for a new Henry short (HGTTB is 13k) each week so I’ll hopefully have some ‘healthy’ numbers to tell you about in future WCW posts. 🙂

The real news, as if that’s not enough, is that they’re under a new pen name of Rachel Cavanagh. How exciting is that? I think so. 🙂 This link goes to my RC Facebook page so I’d be really grateful if you went over and gave it a click. Thank you so much!

I’ve been in editing mode (a long short story – watch this space!) and learning all about Amazon Ads this past week (last Wednesday to last night) so a zero word count. Story a Day May started on Friday and I had planned to do it but sadly I’ve decided that I’ll do them another time, when work work (and Amazon Ads!) isn’t so busy.

I’ve been doing my daily 300+ words, mostly on flash fiction, but also on longer works in progress and have written 8,460 words this past week (last Wednesday to last night). Not quite as good as last week’s 12,035 but way above the usual 2k. This is because I’ve been taking a day off to do nothing (in theory!) but writing and it’s working. It does help that I’m working on a new long short story. Details coming soon. 🙂

Ooh, and Story A Day May starts this coming Friday so I’ll be doing those prompts each day (hopefully as well as my own and the long short stories).
