Word Count Wednesday 2 Dec

Yes, it’s that time of the week again. How have you been getting on?

I’m delighted to say that I finished NaNoWriMo (a mere 45 words over but hey) and have written 20,625 words this past week (last Wednesday to last night).

While I won’t be doing an average of 1,667 words a day I will aim for 1,000 and actually wrote the first 1,716 words of ‘Henry Goes to the Cinema’, the fourth in my Rachel Cavanagh / Henry Houdini dog detective short spin-offs yesterday afternoon/evening.

The first is available (.99!) on Amazon but the second and third were part of this year’s NaNo so will hopefully be coming to your (computer/kindle) screens this side of Christmas, after Caroline has pulled them apart and I’ve gone through them (with sticky tape!) thereafter.

Yes, it’s that time of the week again. How have you been getting on?

I’ve been cracking on with NaNoWriMo. Taking a break from the monologues, I’ve finished the second (14+k of a 19k total: ‘Henry Goes To A Barbecue’) and a chunk (7+k) of the third (‘Henry and the Lawyer’) in my Rachel Cavanagh / Henry Houdini dog detective short spin-offs which I’m really enjoying. So a total of 21,963 words this past week (last Wednesday to last night). If only every week!

NaNoWriMo finishes next Monday so I hope for another healthy week (currently 12k behind, which is okay).

Yes, it’s that time of the week again. How have you been getting on?

I’ve been carrying on with the monologues and have written 3,477 words this past week (last Wednesday to last night). Not the NaNoWriMo target for a week of 11,669 but I’ve finished work for the month so am catching up.

My target for today (and every day to the end of the month) was 3,273 so that’s fine. I’ll aim for 5,000+ per day between now and the 30th so hopefully go over the 50,000-word total. Double figures for next week, and I’m moving on (back) to the novels from tomorrow. 🙂

Yes, it’s that time of the week again. How have you been getting on?

I’ve been doing more monologues and have written 2,075 words this past week (last Wednesday to last night), total 3,916 for November so far. While it’s way short of the target of 16,670 for NaNoWriMo, I have written 12k in a day so possible to catch up quickly. I’ve been work working to leave a chunk of time to do just that.

Yes, it’s that time of the week again. How have you been getting on?

I’ve been continuing with the monologues and have written 2,850 words this past week (last Wednesday to last night). I should have started NaNoWriMo on Sunday and did actually write 2,051 of those words that day but, while I’m not starting a new project, I should really only count novels I add to. I’m going to return to three works in progress this month and plan to add at least 50,000 words to them so hopefully won’t need the 2,051 in the word count anyway. We shall see.

Yes, it’s that time of the week again. How have you been getting on?

I’ve been continuing with the monologues and have 2,114 words this past week (last Wednesday to last night). NaNoWriMo’s coming up (are you doing it?)… on Sunday… eek! so I’ll need to decide what to write. I was going to continue with two standalones but I’ve had an idea for a new novel and the idea is to plan but not to write before November the first so I should really go with that.

Yes, it’s that time of the week again. How have you been getting on?

I’ve been continuing with a shorts project (monologues actually) albeit only last night so a mere 1,369 words but still more than a NaNo day so that’s okay.

Speaking of which, I’ll probably start planning for NaNoWriMo this weekend, although I’ll be adding to a couple novels I’ve already started which isn’t technically cheating (I don’t think). As long as I write 50,000 words, right?

I’m more of a pantser than a planner (what are you?) but I do think I need some kind of structure to ensure I get the words down. I’ve not been disciplined enough recently.

Yes, it’s that time of the week again. How have you been getting on?

I’ve been cracking on with this themed short story collection and have written 2,009 words this past week (last Wednesday to last night)… actually yesterday afternoon so that’s not bad at all. A little down on last week but more than a NaNoWriMo day. Let me know if you’re doing that this year. I will be with novels so these stories are my warm-up.

I’ve put the Henry Short Stories on hold for a while as NaNoWriMo is looming so I’ll be concentrating on my longer projects (standalone psychological novels). Another busy week so only got to writing yesterday morning before I had to go back to work work after lunch. Knowing I only had a morning (sort of*), I returned to a short story collection and put down 2,190 words (*I did do a bit more last thing). Not as many as I’d have liked (or should have done) but enjoyable ones, which are the best kind. Plus it’s more than the equivalent of NaNo’s 1,667 in less than one day so certainly forgivable.

Yes, it’s that time of the week again. How have you been getting on?

I’ve been back with the second Henry Short Stories, albeit only yesterday evening so have a measly 1,227 words but not bad for a few hours. Almost a NaNoWriMo day’s worth. Speaking of which, that’s only just over a month away. Are you doing it this year? I probably will as I have two standalone psych thrillers to finish.
