Blog interviews
** PLEASE NOTE THAT THE BLOG INTERVIEWS ARE NOW BOOKING INTO DECEMBER 2012 **
I’m delighted to bring you a variety of blog author interviews, appearing at the time of issue (usually 7am UK time daily) on my home page with the links
archived in here. I have authors from various genres and hope that you enjoy ‘meeting’ them. Below is a list of those already posted or scheduled and below that are details of how to take part if you’d like to… it’s fairly painless.
If you are an author and either feel the full interview is too much or would like some exposure before your interview goes live, you could also do an ‘author spotlight’ which is written by you, read then posted by me. Take a look at the author spotlight page to get the idea of what I need then do email me if you’re interested in this option. You’re welcome to do both.
The blog interviews are usually posted mornings UK time with other content (author spotlights, guest posts, flash fiction etc. evenings UK time) – new podcast info. usually appears Monday mornings UK time. Some of the interviews are with fellow Litopians – the internet’s “first and foremost” writing-related radio channel (hosted by agent Peter Cox) which has two live shows every Sunday evening (Open House (fun and games) at 7pm then After Dark (guest panel) 8pm UK time).
PLEASE NOTE: Due to everything involved with this blog (and my other commitments; work, writing, house, editing, dog and so on) I am unable to do book reviews but welcome your flash fiction for Flash Fiction Fridays or if you’d like critique on them (the story is only read out, not posted on the blog) my podcast (or both). I also review short stories for Short Story Saturdays.

More to be announced shortly (over 200 replies awaited – I’m not kidding!). If you write (any genre; published or not) and would like to be ‘blog interviewed’, do let me know. It’s a very simple process. I send you a Word document with some questions, you answer as few or as many as you like then email it back to me (morgen@morgenbailey.com) with a photograph or more (of yourself and / or cover(s)) then I take a look, add some of my comments as if we were sitting chatting and set a date for when it would go live on my blog so please give me plenty of notice if you would like a particular date (to tie in with a launch etc). Please send files as attachments wherever possible, thank you.
…and if you’d like to read interviews of me you can find them at Teresa Morrow, Who Hub, Gerrie Ferris Finger, Jess C Scott, with myself for my 100th blog interview (released on my birthday), Marilyn Meredith, Anne K Albert, Marja McGraw, Rosanne Dingli, Sarahjane Funnell (celebrating the launch of my eBooks), Smoky Trudeau Zeidel, Winn Smith, Kat ‘K.S.’ Brooks, Sue Roebuck, Elle Amberley, Avril Joy and Jean Henry Mead. Thank you ladies, it was fun having the tables turned.
I will also be interviewed by Neil Yuzuk for Acclaimed Books (date t.b.a.). If you’d like to interview me, feel free to email me. There’s also an interesting article ‘20 incredibly rare author interviews unearthed‘.
PLEASE NOTE: I don’t charge (or pay) for running the author interviews / spotlights / guest blogs / flash fiction etc. – these ‘services’ are offered because I love meeting and getting to know other authors and because it’s fun to put new things out (and a little part of me hopes that when visitors come to my site they’ll maybe buy one of my books… when they’re available!). So I thank each and every one of the authors who have asked (or said “yes” when I’ve asked them) to be, or are considering being, part of my blog. I’ll keep doing what I’m doing for as long as you keep doing what you’re doing.

Morgen, I was very impressed with your Interview with Jon, the Autobiographical
writer and his “nomadic history” that I sent him an e-mail message, indicating a number of things we have in common, such as writing adventure stories based on our personal experience, and, a mutual Scottish heritage, including a “connection” to a larger-than-life fictional character, the “Tai-Pan” of James Clavel’s novels, from whom I adopted the e-mail name, taipanwooten@aol.com.

Blog interviews are so important to an author. Recently I had my email account (tdwriter) compromised by a hacker who tried to solicit money from my contacts. I could no longer get into my email nor could I alert my contacts about this hacker. I spent days trying to close this account. A lot of my social networking sites, now lost to me, were kept nice and neat in folders at this email address. What I’d like to say to anyone who trusts electronics is to print out everything you have online and keep this information in a special folder on your desk. Same with interviews. I had a devil of a time recontacting everyone. To be part of a blog is to become part of a community of friends. Don’t lose them like I did.
